Helping Deliver Louisiana’s Lower-Carbon Energy Future

As we work to achieve our climate goal commitments, attempting to maintain an accessible and affordable supply of energy while reducing emissions is an important societal challenge. ExxonMobil is playing a leading role in addressing this challenge by lessening the carbon footprint of its own operations while spearheading technologies that will produce lower-carbon fuels and help carbon-intensive industries reach their net-zero emission targets. Working to make these goals a reality, ExxonMobil Pipeline Company is leveraging its logistical and pipeline expertise to keep today’s energy products flowing by preparing to safely transport products that will empower Louisiana’s lower-carbon future.

Hear from Community Leaders

We want our communities to have educational resources to learn more about CO2 and the need for an expanded pipeline network. We also want the first responders in our communities to be prepared with emergency response tactics needed to address CO2-specific hazards. That’s one reason why we sponsor the participation of local and regional emergency responders in programs such as the Hazmat Liquid & CO2 Pipeline and Industrial Fire Emergency Response trainings with Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).

Pipeline Facts & Resources

Pipelines are designed to meet stringent federal and state regulations covering pipeline material, strength and thickness. Pipelines, like cable, water and sewer lines, travel near the surface and far away from water sources deeper below. Computer-aided pipeline monitoring can rapidly detect issues so that pipeline operators can quickly shut down pumps and close valves to isolate segments, if necessary. This helps ensure families and communities are protected.
